The Degree of Availability of Academic Program Quality Assurance Standards in the Colleges of Mahweet University from the Perspective of Faculty Members

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the degree of availability of academic program quality assurance standards at Al-Mahwit University from the point of view of faculty members. The research methodology used descriptive and analytical research methodology, the study sample consisted of all (91) faculty members in various faculties of the university for the second semester of the academic year 1446 AH 2024-2025.  The data was collected by means of a questionnaire questionnaire that included eight main criteria of the Academic Accreditation Council standards document, and included (94) paragraphs distributed on eight main axes, and (94) questionnaires were distributed and retrieved (60) valid questionnaires for statistical analysis, and to achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher used the arithmetic means and standard deviations of all paragraphs of the study, and one way test The results showed that the degree of availability of quality assurance standards came in most of the axes, where the axis "Academic Program and Courses" obtained the highest average, while the axis "Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement" obtained the lowest average, while the results showed statistically significant differences at the level of (0. 05).The results also showed that there were no statistically significant differences at the level of (0.05) reinforcing the variable of department and degree. The study came out with a set of recommendations, the most prominent of which is to promote the spread of a culture of quality in the faculties of Mahweet University by organizing workshops and training courses for faculty members on quality concepts, quality standards and academic accreditation, developing the infrastructure and educational facilities such as classrooms, laboratories, and libraries, in line with academic accreditation requirements, especially in programs with an applied nature. Additionally, conducting similar studies to compare the quality of academic programs at the university with their counterparts in local, Arab, and international universities. This study is of particular importance as it highlights the reality of quality assurance in an emerging university and provides feedback to decision-makers that contributes to improving the quality of education and its outcomes.
