Thematic Unity in Surah Al-Tariq in Light of Thematic Exegesis

Abstract

The research, entitled "Thematic Unity in Surah Al-Tariq in Light of Thematic Interpretation", aims Research Objective: The research aims to demonstrate the thematic connection between the chapters (surahs) of the Holy Quran in general, and the specific surahs of the Quran. This remarkable connection reveals the miraculous nature of the Great Book, definitively proving that it is God's eternal miracle and not the word of man. Research Components: This research consists of: - Introduction: This section outlines the importance and reasons for the research, the research problem, its objectives, its scope, the research methodology, and previous studies. - Research Structure: This section comprises the first chapter: An Introduction to Thematic Interpretation, which includes three subsections: Subsection 1: Definition of Interpretation Linguistically and Technically; Subsection 2: The Importance of Thematic Interpretation; Subsection 3: The Concept of Thematic Unity; Subsection 4: Scholars' Interest in Thematic Unity.

The second section: Thematic Unity in Surah Al-Tariq, comprising four points: Point One: An Introduction to Surah Al-Tariq, including: 1- The reason for its revelation. 2- The number of its verses. 3- Whether it is Meccan or Medinan. 4- Its connection to the preceding and following surahs. Point Two: The topics addressed in Surah Al-Tariq. Point Three: The general theme around which the surah revolves. Point Four: Thematic Unity of the Surah through its general theme. Conclusion: In which I have reached the most prominent findings and recommendations of this research.

Among the most important of these is that the thematic unity of the surah may be composed of several axes, and neglecting one of them may lead to missing the guidance to the thematic unity of the surah. Likewise, the thematic unity in Surat Al-Tariq is composed of three objectives that constitute its distinctiveness, which are: proving the resurrection and the reward, which is its foundation, linked to it: explaining God’s power and His monitoring of man. Likewise, all the components of the noble surah and its topics have all worked together to indicate its thematic unity, which constitutes it, so that the surah appears as if it were a single structure.
